Native Mobile App

An app written separately for iOS and Android that can use every feature of the phone.

Apps that need deep access to the phone's hardware, like augmented reality, heavy graphics, NFC payments or identity verification, require separate (native) development for each platform. We develop with Swift for iOS and Kotlin for Android and deliver apps that use everything the phone can do. The store process and 1 year of technical support are included.

Starting price: from $3,104 (plus VAT where applicable). iPhone and Android, up to 12 screens, App Store and Google Play publishing included.

What's included

  • iOS (Swift) and/or Android (Kotlin) development
  • Hardware features like the camera, location and NFC
  • Working without an internet connection
  • In-app purchases
  • Publishing on the App Store and Google Play
  • 1 year of technical support

How we work

  1. Step 12-3 weeks

    Design and prototype

We map out the path users will follow in the app and build a clickable prototype. We plan for store guideline compliance at this stage.

  2. Step 26-14 weeks

    Development

We develop the iOS and Android app, the server behind it and the notifications. Parts that need to work offline are built at this stage.

  3. Step 32-4 weeks

    Testing

We test on different phones and OS versions and make fixes based on feedback from beta users.

  4. Step 4Ongoing

    Launch and updates

We manage the App Store and Google Play submissions, and after launch we keep the app current with bug fixes and new features.

About Native Mobile App

A native app is written separately for iOS and Android, each in the platform's own language. This route costs more, but it gives full access to every phone feature and the highest performance. Users feel like the app works as part of the phone.

Features like image processing with the camera, precise location tracking, NFC payments or door unlocking, augmented reality, health data and fingerprint login work most reliably with native development. In single-codebase tools these features are either limited or missing entirely.

Apps that need to work where the internet is weak also benefit from native development. Field teams, warehouse and logistics tracking, or health apps have to work without a connection and sync their data when the connection comes back. We build this most robustly on the native side.

We develop in line with Apple's and Google's security, privacy and design rules from the start; that both improves the chances of approval on the first submission and lowers the risk of being removed from the store later. We provide 1 year of technical support after launch.

Frequently asked questions

When should I choose native?

Native is the right choice if you need augmented reality, heavy graphics, deep access to the phone's hardware or the highest performance. If you don't, a hybrid app is more economical.
