UI/UX Design

Planning and designing the screens before any coding starts. It's tested with users and, once approved, delivered as developer-ready files.

If users can't find what they're looking for, even the best software is useless. In UI/UX design we first understand what your users want to do and plan the screens around it. The design is tested with real people before it's coded, so problems get solved at the design stage, while fixing them is still cheap. Your own team or we can work directly from the Figma files we deliver.

What's included

  • Interviews with your users and a competitor review
  • Screen wireframes and the path users will follow
  • A clickable Figma prototype
  • A design guide covering colors, fonts and components
  • A summary of user testing results
  • Handoff files developers can use directly

How we work

  1. Step 11-2 weeks

    Getting to know users

We talk with your users and review your competitors. We write down what people need and where they struggle.

  2. Step 21 week

    Planning the screens

We map out which pages there will be and in what order users will move through them.

  3. Step 32-3 weeks

    Drafts and prototype

We build the screens in Figma, first in simple form, then in color and clickable. Each stage moves forward with your approval.

  4. Step 41 week

    User testing

We have real people use the prototype and fix the spots where they get stuck. Problems are solved before coding.

  5. Step 53-5 days

    Handover

We deliver the design files and the color and type guide in a form developers can use directly.

About UI/UX Design

UI/UX design is made up of two jobs. UX (user experience) is planning how visitors reach their goal in as few steps as possible: which screen comes first, where the button sits, how many fields the form has. UI (user interface) is how that plan looks: colors, type, icons. When both are done right, users move forward without thinking and get their task done.

We start by understanding your users. Who will use it, on which device, and what will they want to do most? Based on those answers we sketch the skeleton of the screens, then build a clickable prototype. We have real people use the prototype and fix the spots where they get stuck.

The payoff of this approach shows up in cost. Changing a screen that's already coded is far more expensive than changing one in a design file. Because we solve problems in design, there's less back-and-forth during development. At handover we also give you a design guide covering colors, fonts and reusable components, so screens added later look the same.

This service covers design only. If you'd like us to do the coding as well, we plan it together with our custom website, custom web application or mobile app services.

Frequently asked questions

Is it just design, or is coding included?

This service covers design. We plan the coding separately, or we hand the Figma files over to your own team.

How many revisions do I get?

2 rounds of revisions are included at each stage. If you need more, there's a package option with unlimited revisions.
