For records that can't afford mistakes, like money, stock and orders, we rely on PostgreSQL. If an operation stops halfway (for example, the payment went through but the stock couldn't be updated), the whole operation is rolled back; records are never left half-finished or inconsistent.

PostgreSQL is a free and highly reliable database where software stores its information. It's used everywhere from banks to large internet companies.
An order involves several steps at once: the payment is recorded, the stock goes down, an invoice is created. PostgreSQL treats these steps as one unit; if one fails, none of them are saved. That way you never end up with a 'customer who was charged but whose order doesn't show up'.
It can also produce complex reports quickly: questions like which product sold how much at which location, or which customer group is growing, are answered from the same database.
Because it's free, there's no license cost, and it can be used with every major cloud company, so you aren't tied to one provider. The data for our own platforms, masada.tr and nezaman.io, lives in PostgreSQL too.
