NestJS

The structure we use on top of Node.js to keep large, multi-team software organized.

Why do we use it?

If software gets messy as it grows, adding new features gets expensive. NestJS lets us write the code to a set structure from the start, with each part in its own place. That way the software stays understandable and easy to build on years later.

What's in it for you

What does it bring to your project?

Large software stays organized years later

A change in one part doesn't break the others

New developers get up to speed on the project quickly

Maintenance costs go down over the long run

In detail

NestJS is a free foundation that runs on Node.js and gives large software an organized structure.

On small projects, each developer can write in their own style. But in software with several parts, many screens and more than one developer, a shared structure is a must. NestJS brings that structure from the start.

Each part (such as customers, orders and invoices) is kept separate. A change in one part doesn't break the others, and a new part can be added without touching the existing structure.

For a small panel or a simple connection, NestJS can be overkill; for that kind of work we use simpler solutions.

What we use it for

  • 1Business software with many parts
  • 2Systems used by more than one team
  • 3A shared back end for a mobile app and a web panel
  • 4Products that will be developed for many years
